Apply several thin coasts allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat.
Can i spray paint ceiling fan blades.
Spray the fan blades and hardware pieces with a thin even coat of primer.
Spray clear primer over fan blades.
For the connectors i did a nice thick coat with a cheap brush.
Apply multiple coats until you ve achieved the coverage you want.
Take the metal arms and the bottom plate outside to spray paint.
You can use a traditional stain or you can use a stain poly blend.
I cleaned the brass well on both the fan and the vents.
But i did not sand the brass.
I sprayed using short strokes while trying just to get everything covered but not force the spray paint incase it went where it shouldn t go.

Even if you splat it on the paint sorta smooths itself out as it dries and has a spray paint finish to it in the end very smooth and even.

I left the main part of the fan in place and just removed the blades.
Shake the spray can thoroughly before use.

In an old t shirt and gloves shake up the bottle and test it on an area of old newspaper or cardboard.
Once all the blades and hardware are dry you re finally ready to spray your color.
I then spray painted the parts that attached to the blades and also the screws that hold in the light globes the same silver.

I had to disassemble the entire fan in order to refinish it.
The one suggestion i would strongly caution is take pictures of the process.
You should re assemble the fan unit only when the fan blades have completely dried.
Of course now i recommend taking the fan down and outside to spray the parts and then reinstall.
Clean the fan blades arms and the brass bottom cover well with a damp rag and some multi purpose spray cleaner if necessary.
Doing it this way i could paint the fan by myself.
